Dee Brown is a former professional basketball player who is best known for his time playing for the University of Illinois. He played for the Illinois Fighting Illini from 2002 to 2006 and was a key player in the team's success during that time. Brown was named the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2005 and led Illinois to the NCAA Championship game in 2005.
After college, Brown was drafted by the Utah Jazz in the 2006 NBA Draft and went on to have a successful career in the NBA, playing for teams such as the Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns. Brown also played professionally overseas in Europe and Asia.
In addition to his playing career, Brown has also been involved in coaching and sports broadcasting. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons. Brown is a beloved figure among Illinois basketball fans and is considered one of the greatest players to ever wear an Illini uniform.
